Shopify Address Book Recommended Workaround

Shopify limits users to five addresses in their address book and does not offer an effective mechanism for managing these addresses. It seems to use some form of AI to prioritize the most recent addresses you've used.

We recommend using the 'Fill in form' feature within Chrome. This document provides steps to help you become familiar with this functionality.  This technique will also work with other websites where these addresses may be useful.

Lastly, while these instructions are specific to the Google Chrome web browser, the technique is applicable to other browsers and plugins as well.

How to enable Autofill in Chrome

Here’s how you can enable Autofill for your passwords on the desktop Chrome app:

  1. Open your Chrome browser.
  2. Click on the ⋮ three dots at the top right corner.
  3. Go to Settings and Select Autofill and passwords.
  4. Select Addresses and more.
  5. Toggle on Save and fill addresses.

 

How to change the Autofill data

To edit or update address data saved in Google Chrome, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Chrome browser.
  2. Click on the ⋮ three dots at the top right corner.
  3. Go to Settings and Select Autofill and passwords.
  4. To add an address, go to Addresses and more, click
  5. Populate the popup form, and click
  6. To edit an address, go to Addresses and more, click on the ⋮ three dots next to the desired address, and choose
  7. Adjust the data on the popup form, and click

 

How to use the Autofill data

To edit or update address data saved in Google Chrome, follow these steps:

  1. Go through the normal checkout process, until you reach the address screen.
  2. To Autofill an address, under Saved Addresses, select Use a new address.

 

  1. Click into the First name field, right click and select Addresses and More.

 

  1. Select the appropriate address from the list shown, or Manage Addresses…

 

 

  1. To clear the form, clicking the First name field, right click and select Addresses and More.
  2. Select the clear form option from the menu.
